Rise of women against Dictatorship- A Tribute to Benazir Bhutto
With the recent furor that happened in Egypt dictatorship has always been an issue . Dictators have ruled according to their whims and fancies but couldn’t cater to basic humanitarian principle.
History has been marked with people like Hitler who have committed atrocities against Jews. My brush with the hard times that women undergo even in a new century was after reading a series of book by Jean Sasson - Princess
A story of a Saudi Arabian girl who was born in royal household had every access to luxury foreign tours, but no access to her own wishes her freedom to think differently or forget even a chance to love.
I won’t jump into the topic of love which has been turned into mockery with today’s relationship which fail to last but a new view into where getting love is the least priority but to remain free and to get basic human rights to help them live respectfully are the priorities. Princess throughout her life saw male counterpart getting more importance and female ones being sidelined of being treated as shit. WHY? Because they want to breathe free ,to work to support their families .
A bigger example who has fought against dictatorship and a fighter is "BENAZIR BHUTTO". She is an example of a new era women. She is a Muslim and is the first women prime minister of Pakistan. She was born to Zukfikar Ali Bhutto. He is the first prime minister of Pakistan and the one who introduced the constitution in 1973... Benazir had lost her father, brother and millions of supporters to Military regime.
Military regime whether in Libya , Pakistan ,Egypt have tried to crush the civilians in the name of justice by putting them in jails with no facilities, passing electric shocks ,with no proper food and other atrocities which might have crushed the bodies but not the spirits. Even when lots have died they would move into streets demanding democratic governments.
Benazir have been put into jail for 6 years by military regime. She could have left politics but she did not give away hopes to restore democratic government in her country .She was able to make a niche of herself in the career of politics and lead her party to heights of success. Been born into Islamic family she went with her father on various political tours. She studied in Harvard and Oxford and was elected the head of debating committee in Oxford Union
NEITHER RELIGION NOR BEING A WOMEN proved to be a hindrance of a successful politician and a representative of millions of people across. Islamists have always feared the rise of women in career and how more independent they have become which have led to the assassination of Benazir in 2007 when she returned from exile after living in Dubai. Now her husband Asif Ali Zardari is heading the party and took over as president from Musharraf .
Life shows us many examples where an idea well executed can turn the world upside down
We should proud to be a women and moreover thank where we are free to express our thoughts when women like Benazir even in terror struck country can run to restore the basic human rights we as new found generation have a legacy to be carried forward................................................................
